Dental Implant Training
As previously discussed, any dentist can place dental implants, but patients should look for a provider with special training in implant dentistry. Dr. Caputo has completed multiple training courses to hone his skills and perfect his dental implant placement. He started with the Alabama Implant Congress (1988 – 1989 – 1990) in Birmingham, AL. Next, he trained under world renowned Oral Implantologist Dr. O. Hilt Tatum, Jr. from 1989 to 1995 in St. Petersburg, FL. He also participated in a Maxicourse in Implant Dentistry, Medical College of Georgia, March 1994 – September 1994 in Augusta, GA. And finally, he has been an Associate Fellow with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry since 1995.
To help his patients with their comfort and ease during procedures, Dr. Caputo earned a certification in Intravenous Conscious Sedation from the Medical College of Georgia in 1995. The use of sedation dentistry, in particular, oral medication, inhalation (nitrous oxide), and intravenous (I.V.) therapy, can provide many benefits to patients. By utilizing these procedures, Dr. Caputo can increase patient comfort and perform multiple procedures in a single visit. In addition to these benefits, Dr. Caputo’s use of sedation dentistry often provides cost savings to the patient by reducing the number of visits necessary.
Dr. Caputo and his friendly staff take pride in serving their community with an array of superior services. So, if you are missing teeth or need other dental services, we encourage you to come give us a try.
